The Grenzinfopunkt (GIP)

The Grenzinfopunkt (abbreviation: GIP) is the result of the cooperation of eleven partners from Germany (Regio Aachen e.V., City of Aachen, Eurode / Herzogenrath, Städteregion Aachen, IHK), the Netherlands (Province of Limburg, KVK, Parkstad Limburg, Eurode / Kerkrade, municipality of Vaals and municipality of Gulpen - Wittem) and Belgium (German-speaking community). The Grenzinfopunkt opened its doors in Aachen on January 9, 2013.

Free citizens' service

At the Aachen and Kerkrade / Herzogenrath sites, free counselling and information leaflets are offered. GIP customers are (former) cross-border commuters, businesses and institutions which have to deal with the cross-border living and working conditions in the region.

Focus

The focus of the consulting service is: living and working in the Euregio area, social security, taxes, registration and right of residence.
